MOORE, Clarissa A. – Of Grand Blanc, age 96, died Sunday, March 10, 2024 at her residence.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12noon Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 E. Bristol Road, Burton, MI 48529.
Father Georges Roger Bidzogo officiating.
Visitation 5-8pm Thursday and 1-8pm Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Friday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 11am Saturday at church until the time of the Mass.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Clarissa was born in Dallas, Texas on October 12, 1927, the daughter of the late Silverio and Galdina (Amaya) Avila. On December 16, 1945, she married Pedro Tony Mestas and he preceded her in death on December 27, 1970. On August 3, 1973, she married Robert Moore and he preceded her in death on December 30, 2003. Clarissa was the Matriarch of the family. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Surviving are daughter, Connie Congdon;
son, Pete Anthony (Lisa) Mestas;
grandchildren, David Turnbow, Denice (David LaBlanc) Turnbow, Rachel Mestas, Alina Christian, Heather (Matt Ruiter) Duffy, Liana (Robert Gallegos) Mestas, Raven (Emilie Tolly) Mestas, Lexi Mestas, deceased and in-law, Martin Mayhall;
great-grandchildren, Lance, Antonio, Danielle, Alexis Angelina, and Wally;
sisters, Naomi Reyes;
and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Alfredo Avila Galan, Julio Escobedo and Silverio Avila and sisters, Ninfa Sanchez, Consuelo Alcoser and Uruanita Tracey.
