Helen "Billie" Louise Thompson, age 95, of Mayville, MI passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility in Lapeer, MI.
She was born April 13, 1925 in Stuttgart, AK daughter of the late John and Ethel (Reed) Bassham. Billie graduated from Kearsley High School with the Class of 1943. She married Warren H. Thompson January 10, 1945 in Flint, MI. Billie's first job was at AC in Flint, MI as a Rosie the Riveter during World War II, after that she worked at Bavarian Inn Restaurant in Frankenmuth, MI as a waitress. Billie then worked at DeGrow & Hunkins Insurance Agency in Mayville, MI as a Secretary retiring after 21 years of service. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and attending her grandchildren's school events. Billie enjoyed baking, sewing and was an avid reader.
Billie is survived by her sons, Dave (Madalynne) Thompson of Fostoria, MI and Delbert (Ellen) Thompson of Sheridan, MI; six grandchildren, Diane Thompson, Michelle (Ryan) Arsnoe, Jonathan Thompson, Christopher (Joanna) Thompson, Elizabeth (Gary) Oakley and Lauren (Tony) Budreau; 17 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Warren Thompson; and daughter, Diane Helen Thompson.
A Private Funeral Service will be held Saturday. Live stream will be available at 11 AM on Avram Funeral Home website Facebook page.
Due to Covid 19 regulations we will adhere to the strict guidelines and are asking all visitors to bring and wear a mask or face covering during visitation and service.
Burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park in Flint, MI.
