WOODWARD, John F. - Age 88, of Fenton, passed away April 19, 2023. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday, April 24, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Burial will follow in Gage Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-5 PM Sunday and 12 PM until the time of service Monday at the funeral home. John was born April 28, 1934 in Flint, the son of Floyd and Beatrice Woodward. He grew up spending the Summer on Lake Fenton at their family's cottage and eventually made that his permanent home. John was known by his neighbors as the "Mayor of Enid Boulevard". He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed being outdoors working on his yard. In his younger years he was a skilled sailor. John also enjoyed golfing, bowling and woodworking. He will be remembered as a kind, humble man with a great sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Zorina; children, John Woodward Jr. and Shelly (Robert) Payne; grandson, Joshua (Chessie) Loewen; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James and sister, Betty Ann. |
