HYNAN, Roy - Of Flint, age 90, died Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Regency of Grand Blanc.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 am Monday, October 15, 2018 at St. John Vianney Church, 2415 Bagley Street, Flint.
Father Thomas Firestone officiating.
Entombment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John Vianney Church or hhfr.org which is a non-profit founded by Nurse Vianney from Petoskey who gave Roy great comfort and care.
Visitation 4-8pm Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Sunday at the funeral home. Visitation 10 am Monday at church until the time of the Mass.
Roy was born in Flint, Michigan on May 26, 1928, the son of the late John and Katherine (Hackney) Hynan. Roy served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953. On May 11, 1957, he married Suzanne LaCroix. Roy worked as a Purchaser at Buick Motor Division for over 30 years.
Surviving are wife, Suzanne Hynan;
Children, Roy (Kim) Hynan Jr., Mark (Julie) Hynan, Karrie (Doug) Nye and Marianne Johnson;
Grandchildren, Katie (Sean) Fox, Cooper Nye, Jake Hynan, Mara Johnson, Jonah Nye, Murphy Nye, Emily Johnson, Isabelle and Elizabeth Hynan;
Four nieces and nephews that were much more than that to him; John Hynan Jr., Laurie Schaibly, Matthew Hynan (Lore Jan) and Martha (Gerard) Mello.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John Hynan and sister-in-law, Alvera Hynan.
