CORON, Alice Joyce, of Flint, age 79, passed away July 18, 2015 at Kith Haven Nursing Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12:30 PM Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-8 PM Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Alice was born in Swartz Creek, MI on February 14, 1936, daughter of the late Edith Reed. She married Robert Francis Coron in Flint, MI on July 9, 1955 and he preceded her in death September 8, 2008. Alice loved playing Bingo, gardening and being outdoors. She enjoyed country music, western movies, playing cards and hosting family. Alice was a loving mother, grandma and wife of 53 years. She enjoyed dancing and singing, especially “You Are My Sunshine”. She was proud of her doll collection.
Alice is survived by her children, Mark (Linda) Coron, Elaine Gamel, Stephen Coron, Christopher (Lisa) Coron; grandchildren, Brett (Melissa) Coron, Lisa (Robert II) Buffa, Elizabeth Finholm, Jennifer (Andrew) Sensabaugh, Eric Coron, Barry Gamel II; great grandchildren, Zachary, Maria, Madison, Evan, Thomas, Jack, Eli and soon to be arriving, Lillian. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Norma Finley, Robert, Thomas and Ronald Chapman; step-father, Edward Reed. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Kith Haven and McLaren Hospice for their compassion and care over the last 5 months.
