EDWARDS, Barbara Jean – Of Naperville, Illinois, formerly of Flushing, age 84, died Friday, July 13, 2012 at Meadowbrook Manor.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 South Saginaw Street in Grand Blanc, Father Jonathan Perrotta will celebrate and Rite of Committal will follow in Flint Memorial Park.
Barbara will lie in state at church 10:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the Mass.
Visitation 12-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Those desiring may make contributions to the American Lung Association.
Barbara was born in Elsie, Michigan on September 3, 1927, the daughter of the late Maynard and Maude (Klotz) Hilvers.
On October 7, 1950 she married Norman Edwards.
She was a former member of Holy Family Catholic Church and St. Roberts Catholic Church.
Surviving are 3 sons, John and wife Nancy Edwards,
James Edwards and
Patrick Edwards;
3 grandchildren, Andrew, Jennifer and Felicia;
3 great-grandchildren, Samuel, Travis and Mya;
sister, Maxine Ballard; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, on May 5, 2008 and granddaughter, Christina.
