HALL, Russell Gordon - Age 84, of Flint, died Friday, March 30, 2018. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to the family.
Russell was born July 30, 1933 in Flint, the son of Henry and Dorothy (Rice) Hall. He was a 1951 graduate of Flint Central High School. Russell proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a Fork Lift Operator for Hamady Brothers for 38 years retiring in 1989. Russell married Barbara L. Marsh on October 24, 1953 in Flint. He was a life resident of the Flint area. Russell was a member of the Hamady Retirement Breakfast Club. He was an avid bowler, golfer, and blue gill fisherman. Russell also enjoyed his casino trips. Most of all, he was a great husband and dad, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are: his beloved wife of 64 years, Barbara; 3 children, Deborah (Roy) Taylor, Terry Hecht, and Russell G. (Kathleen) Hall, Jr.; 6 grandchildren, Russell Dale Hall, Malauri (Leif Parr) Taylor, Taylor (Matthew) Hawley, Kyle Hall, Aaron Hecht, and Dylan Hall; 2 great-grandchildren, Henry and Lucy Hawley; and sister, Mary Lee Duff.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Robert Hall; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jay and Dorothy Marsh-MacDonald; and best friend, Bert Barney. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
