OWENS, Genevieve Marie – Of Grand Blanc, age 76, died Friday, May 24, 2013 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Visitation 1-8 pm Monday, May 27, 2013 at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation will be at the church 1pm Tuesday until the time of the service.
Funeral service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at
Grand Blanc United Methodist Church, 515 Bush Avenue, Grand Blanc, Reverend G. Patrick England officiating.
Burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
Contributions may be directed to Grand Blanc United Methodist Church.
Genevieve was born in Chelsea, Michigan on January 30, 1937 and was a resident of the Grand Blanc area for the past 10 years. She married James Owens, Sr. on May 9, 1959. She was an active member of Grand Blanc United Methodist Church. Mrs. Owens was employed by Kresge/Kmart for many years in Ann Arbor.
Surviving are her husband, Jim;
children, Jim Jr. (Sue), Thomas both of Grand Blanc and Dawn of Westland, Michigan;
9 grandchildren, Kris, Matt, Jacob, Caleb, April, Ryan, Melissa (Chris), Jeffery and Stephanie (Dennis);
3 great-grandchildren, Trey, Tyler and Sophia;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jonathan.
