WINFIELD, Gerald “Gary” – of Davison, age 79, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Ascension Genesys Hospital. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Mark Kalfayan officiating. Interment will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will welcome visitors 11 AM-2 PM and 3-7 PM Monday, June 3, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, with a Memorial Service at 6 PM by the Davison Eagles Aerie #3589. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family, in Gerald’s memory.
Gary was born in Flint, MI on June 14, 1944, son of the late Gerald and Ruth (Flynn) Winfield. He married Barbara Colosky on June 21, 1975, and she preceded him in death on February 7, 2016. Gary was a graduate of Saint Agnes Catholic High School class of 1963. He retired from Buick City in Flint, Michigan after 30 years of service. He was the Past Worth President of both the Davison and Burton Aeries of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and was most recently inducted into the State Eagles Hall of Fame. Gary enjoyed spending time up north at Shingle lake with his family, hanging out with his eagle family and trying his luck at any casino. He will be missed by all.
Surviving are sons, Jim (Becky) Winfield and Mark Winfield; grandchildren, Josh (Kate), Sarah, Zach and Aubree; great-grandchildren, Harper and Henry; sister, Mari Hartl; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friends, Bob (Tracy) Burlingame.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Winfield; brother-in-law, John Hartl; and son, Troy Carr.
