HOEKSEMA, Leora E. – Of Flint, age 98, has gone to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Fostrian Manor.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Jerry Foster officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Riverdale Baptist Church.
Visitation 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Leora was born in Jasper, Michigan on January 23, 1918, daughter of the late Lester and Edith (Gove) Treat and was a resident of Flint most of her life.
She married LeRoy E. Hoeksema on November 21, 1942.
She was a member of Riverdale Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hoeksema was employed as a Church Secretary for many years.
Surviving are son, Mark L.;
daughter-in-law, Vicki Hoeksema;
grandson, Timothy;
sister, Winona and husband Darwin Jerden of Florida;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy in 1976; son, Paul in 1993; parents, Lester and Edith Treat; brothers, Leroy,
Lyle and Elwyn Treat; sister, Laura Darton.
