HOUSE, GERALD – Of Flint, age 84, died Saturday, August 24, 2024 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Faith Missionary Church, 1327 North Elms Road, Flint, Pastor Brent Kriesch officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Faith Missionary Church or Alzheimer’s Association.
Visitation 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Mr. House will be at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the funeral.
Gerald was born in Flint, Michigan on June 17, 1940, the son of the late Henry and Lois (Bolinger) House.
He served in the U.S. Army as an M.P.
On November 17, 2000 he married Sharon Noll.
He was a member of Faith Missionary Church; past District Governor of the Lions Club; Chaplain of the American Legion #1342.
He loved fishing, bowling, golf and sports. He didn’t like to shop, and if he was at the mall he could be found sitting on a bench and watching people.
Mr. House was employed as Head of Security at Citizens Bank for 27 years, police officer for Vienna Township, Frankenmuth and Flint.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon;
children, Barbara Hanel, Cindy (Patrick) Burns and Ron (Stacey) Morey;
step-children, Amy (Dan) Noll, Jeremy Noll, Richard Noll, Jr. and John (Rhonda) Noll;
numerous grandchildren, Hillary Rose,
Douglas Hanel,
Caden Burns, Jacob, Jonathon and Connor Morey,
Trey Ortiz,
Daniel Ortiz, Colter Hunt, Meghan Noll, Breanna, Noll, Kaylin Noll, Nick Noll, Kyle Noll and Shannon Noll;
numerous great-grandchildren;
sister, Joy Hanje;
brother, Larry (Chris) House;
many nieces, nephews; great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Al Hanje and mother of his two children, Connie House.
