Bouza (Childs), Janet Louise age 77 of Flushing died May 31, 2015 in Fenton, MI. Funeral service will be held 11:30 AM, Monday, June 8, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 402 S. Ballenger, Flint, MI. Family will receive visitors at the church from 10 AM until time of service Monday. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Pastor Jeffrey Walsh officiating. Janet was a mother to 5 children and a wife for 55 years. She was a 1955 Beecher High School graduate and held an Associate's Degree from the Flint Junior College (Mott Community college), but her primary title was housewife. Janet enjoyed concerts, parades, picnics, and almost any community event. Attending her grandchildren's plays, dance recitals and ball games were of the utmost importance. Janet was dedicated in her workout routines at Curves and at Gym For Her. Her earlier hobbies included playing the piano, knitting and cake decorating. No one could make a flakier pie crust or bake tastier cookies! A multitude and variety of experiences enriched her life, yet the most DEFINING of all was her faith. Janet was so very proud to be a life-long Lutheran, the Christian seed first sown while attending fourth grade at St. Paul's day school. She continued with her father's religious choice, subsequently enrolling all of her children at St. Paul's day school. Janet took great pleasure attending St. Paul Lutheran Church's Sunday services, participating in Bible studies there, and serving as an Altar Guild member. When unable to personally attend worship, she would watch Worship for Shut-ins on TV. Her mantra throughout her illness and the unknown of when God would call her home: "I'm a winner either way." She is survived by her 5 children, Kimberly Frieling, Kelly Simmons, Stephanie McGinnis, Michael and Jill Bouza; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. Sister Virginia Birnie and brother Robert (Karen) Childs. Janet was preceded in death by husband John Bouza and her parents Dale and Helena Childs. In Lieu of flowers please make donations for funeral expenses to Dodds Dumanois Funeral Home and Cremation Center or to St. Paul Lutheran Church and School. |
