Paul Michael Edwards, age 67, of Flint, Michigan passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 in Flushing Michigan as a result of the cancer he had been on a journey with since 2002. He was born June 3,1956 in Bad Axe, Michigan, Son of Omer and Marie Pawlosky Edwards. Paul attended Sacred Heart School and Graduated from Bad Axe High School- Class of 1974. Paul Graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Nutrition. He continued his education in Flint, completing his Dietetic Traineeship/Internship and becoming a Registered Dietitian. Paul worked at Flint Osteopathic Hospital (FOH) beginning as a Clinical Dietitian and finishing his career there as the Manager of the Nutritional Services Department. Paul returned to school and earned a Masters Degree in Health Service Administration from Central Michigan University. After FOH closed, Paul worked at St. Mary's Medical Center in Saginaw as the Team Leader of Hospitality Services, at the Greater Flint Health Coalition in Flint as Director/ Vice President pf the Flint Healthcare Employment Opportunities Program and Finally for Genesee County in the Office of Senior Services as a Senior Services Specialist.
In between jobs, Paul worked in the education field, teaching at St. Robert's School in Flushing, the Flushing Public School Systems, St. John Vianney School and Carman Ainsworth School District in Flint. Paul was also employed in 2010 at Baker College in Owosso as an adjunct instructor in their Health Services Program.
Paul was a member of the St. John Vianney Parish in Flint, Michigan and had previously attended St. Agnes Parish in Flint unitl it closed in 2008, where he was a member of the Parish Council. Paul had been a member of the Flushing Jaycees, was a Scout Leader at Seymour Elementary School in Flushing and served as Secretary for AFSCME Local 496, Chapter 01.
Paul is survived by his mother Marie Pawlosky of Flushing, Michigan; Son Daniel (Jamie) of Grand Blanc; Son Philip (Pamela) of Tennessee; former wife Loretta Zychowicz and her husband Rick Riley of Tennessee. Paul is Preceded in death by his father Omer and brother Patrick.
A visitation for Paul will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W Pierson Rd, Flushing, Michigan 48433. A rosary will occur Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley St, Flint, Michigan 48504. With a hour of visitation prior to the service Thursday.
Memorial donations may be made to St John Vianney Catholic School in memory of Paul. |
