of Burt, age 55, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 30, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held 1PM, Friday, December 7, 2018 at Bible Baptist Church, 6205 Birch Run Road, Birch Run. Pastor Fred Smith officiating. Burial to follow in Cook Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run on Thursday from 1PM until 8PM and at the church on Friday from 12PM until the time of service at 1PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Birch Run Bible Baptist Church or Covenant HealthCare Oncology. Dennis was born August 24, 1963 in Bay City, Michigan. He was loved dearly by his parents Ivan and Florence (Kube) Bauer. He graduated from Bay City Western in 1981. Dennis earned an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement from Delta College in 1984. He married Michelle Mason on March 21, 2009 in Saginaw, Michigan. Dennis worked at Covenant HealthCare for 30 years, serving as Security Manager since 1999. Dennis was a member of Bible Baptist Church, the American Society of Industrial Security, and the Michigan Mountain Bike Association. He enjoyed mountain biking with his family and friends and working in his bike shop. He also enjoyed coaching and playing soccer with his boys. Most of all, Dennis loved the Lord, and treasured being a husband, father, son and friend. Surviving are: Wife, Michelle Bauer; Children, Jason (Kayla) Ashley Jr. and Brendan Ashley; Mother, Florence Bauer; Parents-in-law, Louis and Sherry Mason, and godmother, Beulah-Boots Bauer. He was preceded in death by his father, Ivan Bauer. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Covenant HealthCare’s Oncology Unit and the Cancer Care Center for their exceptional and compassionate care of Dennis.
