WILSON, Robert Walter - Age 82, of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, June 27, 2017. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, June 30, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly at a later date. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 5-9 PM and Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to Swartz Creek V.F.W. Post #3720, 3131 Elms Road, Swartz Creek, MI 48473, the Oscoda V.F.W. Post #3735, 240 Chrysler Rd, Oscoda, MI 48750 or the V.F.W. National Home for Children, 3573 S. Robert was born February 4, 1935 in Savannah, GA, the son of Walter B. and June W. (Pangburn) Wilson. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Navy. He married Carol Ann Trombly May 20, 1994 in Montville, CT. He has resided in Swartz Creek since 2014 coming from Oscoda. He was a member of Swartz Creek V.F.W. Post #3720 and a former member of Oscoda V.F.W. Post #3735. He also was a member of the Swartz Creek and Oscoda American Legion and the Oscoda Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are: his wife, Carol; children, Mark Wilson, Robert Wilson, Heather Barlow, Sheri Kasper, and Tina (Al) MacAuley; grandchildren, Bryan Wilson, Tonya (Charlie) Smith, Matthew (Rebecca) Kasper, Michael Kasper, Ashlee (Dustin Horn) Wilson, and Justin MacAuley; great grandchildren, Maria Morales, Verse Wilson, and Landyn Kasper; siblings, Howard Wilson, Harry Wilson, Fred Wilson, Linda (Larry) Bowman, Nancy (Brian) Sabin, John (Sandy) Wilson, Wava (Keith) Valliere, Mary (Ken) Ellis, and Sally (Jeff) Lunde; and several nieces and nephews.
