Betty J. Card, age 78, of Lapeer died April 16, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born June 27, 1935 in Flint, the daughter of the late George and Mayme Hamaker. She later married Raymond Joseph Card on May 12, 1956. Betty was a member of the Columbiaville United Methodist Church, where she volunteered for the food pantry, and monthly meals. She also was the past clerk for Genesee Township for 18 years, and was a proud member of NCHA, FCE, 4H, Quilt Club, and Thimble Buddies. She loved quilting, reading, camping, but most of all spending time with her family and friends.
Betty is survived by her husband of 57 years, Joe.
Children: Ben (Karen) Card, Jenny ( Steve ) Griggs, Dan ( Sue ) Card,
Joel Card, Missie ( David) Taylor, Sara ( Rob ) Hensel.
She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Walter, siblings: Bea and Donald, nieces: Marilyn, Laura, and grand-daughter Laura.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday April 26, 2014 at the Columbiaville United Methodist Church, with a memorial celebration at 11:00 AM. Pastor Esther Irish officiating. Memorials in memory of Betty may be made to the family. |
