Thomas George Kline
Age 82 of New Lothrop passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Friday, July 14, 2017 at St. Michael's Catholic Church of Maple Grove. Burial of ashes and Military Honors will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church that morning from 9:00am until the service.
Thomas was born on March 9, 1935 to George and Agnes (Bauman) Kline in New Lothrop. He graduated from New Lothrop High School in 1952. He served in the United States Navy and toured the Korean Peninsula during the Korean War. Thomas married the love of his life, Fidelis Adeline Garant on April 4, 1959 at St. Michael's of Maple Grove; they celebrated 41 years of marriage before she predeceased him in 2000.
Thomas owned and operated the New Lothrop Hardware store for many years. He also worked at Hemlock Elevator before retiring. During his life, he loved going to Lake Ogemaw to be with his family and friends, spending time with his sister RoseMary, and having good conversations. He was a Detroit Tigers fan and a big supporter of our Armed Forces and the American Flag. Thomas celebrated 60 years of sobriety with the support of his friends and family at A.A, and he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Thomas is survived by his 6 sons, Scott (Kim) Kline, Jeff (Lori) Kline, Tim Kline, Nicholas Kline, Dave Kline, and Steve Kline; his 14 grandchildren, Trevor, Jennifer, Cory, Brittney, Emily, Gabrielle, Morgan, Brandon, Kenton, Ryan, Jack, Brianna, Madison, and Miles; his sister, RoseMary Fedewa; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
He is predeceased by his wife Fidelis Kline; his parents, George and Agnes Kline; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathleen (Robert) Tobias, Joanne (Hank) Zalik, Patricia Kline, and Vern Fedewa.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
