HOWARD, Norman H. – of Clio, age 88, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at his residence surrounded by family. Funeral services will be 1PM Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Deacon Ray Ellingson officiating. Private burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 11AM until the time of service at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County.

Norman was born February 5, 1929 in Boyne Falls, Michigan to the late Henry and Mabel (Osborn) Howard. He married Shirley Hall on April 12, 1952 in Flint. Mr. Howard is a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. Norman retired from General Motors in 1993 with over 30 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #659. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, country music, golfing, trips to the casino, and watching the Detroit Lions and Tigers. Above all, Norman absolutely loved spending time with his family. He was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Surviving are: Wife, Shirley Howard of Clio; Daughters: Bethany (Keith) Bennett of Winter Haven, FL, Kathy (Merl) Williams of Clio, and Brenda (Charles) Perge of Clio; 6 grandchildren: Dan (Chrissy), Rob (Fiancée Tammy), Mike (Jill), Jaclyn (Chuck), Jennifer (Geoff), and Tony (Teresa); 10 great-grandchildren; Brother, Lester Howard; Sister, Sandy Clausen; Many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members. Norman was also preceded in death by his brothers: Bob and Lyle Howard. The family extends a special thank you to Heartland Hospice.
