Gloria M. Mikesell of Flushing, age 88, died Monday, June 6, 2011 at her home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2011 at Mayfair Bible Church, G-5339 W. Pierson Rd., Flushing. Pastor Dean Stewart will officiate. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Mayfair Bible Church.
Gloria was born in Linwood, Michigan on November 1, 1922, the daughter of Wilfred J. and Edith R. (Valead) Bourassa. She married Maurice Mikesell in Flint, Michigan on June 20, 1942. He preceded her in death on January 3, 2003. Gloria was a member at Mayfair Bible Church for over 40 years and was a member of the Joy Fellowship. She enjoyed gardening and flower arranging.
Gloria is survived by: children, Gloria Lucille and husband Scott Cowan of Florida, John and wife Jacqueline Mikesell of Flushing; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert and Harlan Bourassa. She was also preceded in death by her children, Shirley Washington, Dawn Mikesell; two brothers and one sister.
