Eva Mae Sellinger, age 87 of Grand Blanc, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, the day of her 69th wedding anniversary. She was born on October 30, 1931 in Flint, Michigan to parents Wilson and Katie Lannom. Eva graduated from Flint Tech High School in 1950 and soon after married her high school sweetheart, John Sellinger, on September 17, 1950. She went to work at Citizens Bank to help put John through GMI. Together, Eva and John had two children: Jeannie Marie and John Frank, Jr. She was a member of Kirkridge Presbyterian Church. Eva loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a longtime volunteer at St. Joe’s and Genesys Hospitals. She also loved to travel and go on summer vacations with the family. She enjoyed baking and was known for her famous chocolate chip cookies. Eva will be lovingly remembered by her husband, John Sellinger; children: Jeannie (Terry) Matherly and John (Jody) Sellinger, Jr.; grandchildren: Kimberly (Phil) Wolkins, Keeli Matherly and fiance, Michael Donovan, Katie (Jacob) Swanson, Dana (Andy) Katterman, and David Sellinger; great grandchildren: Kylie and Lincoln Katterman; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both parents; sister, Jean Holt; brother, Jim Lannom. A memorial service will take place at 11am on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. The family will receive visitors two hours prior to the service, beginning at 9am. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Medical Team Hospice. |
