WADE, W. Edis - Age 92, of Linden, died Sunday, February 17, 2019. Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St, Linden. Mr. Joseph Warford officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to Linden Historical Society or the Linden Library.
Edis was born April 15, 1926 in Linden, the daughter of Ralph and Lucinda (Collins) Davis. She was a 1943 graduate of Linden High School. She married Robert Wade September 20, 1952 in Linden and he preceded her in death July 31, 2008. She had resided in Linden most of her life. Edis retired from Close Chevrolet as the bookkeeper and business manager, she also had been employed by Kellogg's in Battle Creek. She was a member of Linden Presbyterian Church, where she was a deacon, taught Sunday School, and was a member of the choir. She also was a member of the Linden Band Boosters and the Linden Historical Society.
Surviving are: 4 children, Kevin Robert Wade and wife, Donna of Sequim, WA, Maryjane D. Cates and husband, Alan of Flint, Scott Davis Wade and wife, Brenda of Flint, and James Lyle Wade and wife, Theresa of Flushing; grandchildren, Aaron, Lindsey, Thomas, Nathan, Katherine, and Sarah (Michael) Gatica; great grandson, Gideon; sister, Ardith Tringali of Sterling Heights; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Katherine Wade; brothers, James, Ralph, Lyle, and Dave Davis; and sisters, Ruth Wakeman, Marion Davis, and Elaine Frownfelter. Tributes may be posted at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
