Dave was born in Saginaw, MI on January 1, 1950, son of the late Noel and D. Lorraine (Berridge) Paige. He was employed with Genova Products, Inc. in Davison, MI, retiring in 2010 after 37 years of service. To know him was to love him! He loved his girls! Beginning with Kelly, who some say he married for her Mooney Ice Cream connections. He would often meet the ice cream delivery truck at a Davison 7 Eleven and abscond with many half gallons that didn’t last a week. He married Kelly Anne McIntyre in Saginaw, MI on June 16, 1973. Along came Morgan and Taylor. He was the biggest softy. Dave often got suckered into many of their requests from new skis and prom dresses, to used cars and MORE college tuition! He never regretted any of them and unselfishly obliged. Dave loved being “Papa” to Carson and Stella. Building birdhouses, using garage tools and snuggling were some of this favorite activities with them. In addition to his love for his family, was his love for Clear Lake in West Branch, Michigan. There he could be found near the smoker, at the garage, in his Jeep, riding in the pontoon, or checking out the latest projects of his buddies around the lake. His list of to-dos and future projects was legendary!!! Dave was a FOODIE! A breakfast at Jimmie’s restaurant was a must. He loved to plan menus, grocery shop, cook, bar-b-que, or use the smoker. All of his family and friends got to be on the receiving end of his culinary work! Above all, he loved to eat!! No meal was ever started without a Tanqueray and tonic or completed prior to sundown!!!!

Dave loved to travel whether it was with his girls, his buddies from the lake, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Whitney and Jim McDonough, or close friends, Mike and Chris Smith. He was fortunate to spend time in Florida, Alaska, Mexico, Europe and an occasional casino or two in Michigan where he would always contribute a little cash to the local economy. He always said the best family vacations he ever took were skiing in Colorado. A Michigan State University season ticket holder for over twenty-five years, Dave loved to tailgate and travel to MSU bowl games. More than anything, he adored his wife Kelly, whom he called his angel. There was not a day that went by where he didn’t tell her how much he appreciated and loved her. Her care and love for him, in large part, extended the length of years he had left. He will always be her PITA.

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Kelly; 2 daughters, Taylor Paige and Morgan (Jerry) Nowicki; 2 grandchildren, Carson and Stella Nowicki; brother, Donald (Kathy) Paige; sister-in-law, Whitney (Jim) McDonough; 2 nephews, Jack (Ashley) McDonough and Donald (Kari) Paige; niece, Heather (Ken) Rundell; many other loving family members and friends.

Dave won his eleven-year battle with cancer. His positive, never complain, never give up attitude was admired by everyone who knew him. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at the University of Michigan Hospital, including Dr. Bruce Redman, D.O., oncologist. The family would also like to recognize Dr. Christie Samuels, M.D. and her staff, as well as the staff of Davison DaVita Dialysis. A man that was loved by many, left a lasting footprint on this earth.
