BURTRUM, Larry L. - Of Grand Blanc, age 70, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at St. John Providence in Novi.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Reverend Harold K. Polk, Jr. officiating.
Burial with Military Honors in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the D.A.V.
Visitation 1-8pm Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Larry was born in Flint on November 9, 1944 and was a resident of Flint and Grand Blanc all of his life. Larry proudly served in the United States Army Infantry during Viet Nam. He owned and operated Clyde Burtrum Furs since 1969.
Recently he enjoyed serving on the Grand Blanc City Council.
Larry was a loving family man.
He also loved gardening, fixing anything that needed fixing and was an avid Detroit Lions fan.
Surviving are wife, Susan;
Children, Amy, Wendy and Lauren Burtrum;
granddaughter, Sofie Burtrum;
father, Clyde Burtrum and wife Sylvia;
brothers, James and wife Peggy Burtrum and Dennis Burtrum;
a niece and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by mother, Mavis Burtrum in 2009.
