Marlene E. Strong, age 73, of Columbiaville died August 4, 2013 at McLaren - Lapeer.
Marlene was born March 9, 1940 in Columbiaville. The daughter of the late Neil and Eleanor Lambert ( Manwell ). She later married Marvin B. Strong on June 25, 1960 in Columbiaville.
Marlene was a member of the Columbiaville United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer, a volunteer for the Monday night dinners, and enjoyed bible study. Her and Marvin operated Lamberts IGA in Columbiaville till 2001. She also enjoyed reading, bowling, golf, crocheting, and most of all spending time with her family and friends.
Marlene is survived by her husband Marvin,
Children: Lisa Strong, Darryl ( Lynne ) Strong, LaDene ( Douglas ) Lyon,
Siblings: Dale ( Connie ) Lambert, Joseph ( Tonita ) Lambert,
She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren: Nicholas, Scott, Spencer, Christina, and Jenavieve.
Funeral service Thursday 11:00 AM from the Columbiaville United Methodist Church. Pastor Esther Irish officiating. Friends may visit on Wednesday 3-9 PM at Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville. Interment Meadow Lawn Cemetery. Memorials in memory of Marlene may be made to the church or ASPCA. |
