Carl was born in Flint, Michigan on July 27, 1932, son of the late Carl and Mamie (Glasco) Farmer. He married the love of his life, Marilyn Doughty, on March 14, 1955, in Auburn, Indiana, and together they built a life filled with love and adventure. As a young man, Carl achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, earning numerous merit badges that reflected his dedication and skills. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, stationed in New York City’s Cunningham Park, where he played a crucial role in anti-aircraft operations. After his military service, Carl enjoyed a long and dedicated career at General Motors before retiring. Carl had a passion for aviation and often shared his favorite saying: “I flew airplanes and drove big trucks.” He owned his own excavating business, pursued commercial farming, and embraced the great outdoors. An avid fisherman and deer hunter, he also loved swimming and racing snowmobiles. His deep affection for animals was evident in the way he cared for them. Above all, Carl cherished time spent with his family and friends. Whether entertaining loved ones or sharing stories, he brought warmth and joy to those around him. His adventurous spirit, generosity, and love for life will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
