CARTO, Mary Jane – of Davison, age 82, passed away October 11, 2018 at Lapeer Co. Medical Care Facility – Suncrest. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12 PM Monday, October 15, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Cremation will follow the Mass. Burial of cremated remains will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be 1-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. A Rosary will be prayed 7 PM Sunday. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. John Catholic Church.
Mary Jane was born in Flint, MI on December 22, 1935, daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine (Nelson) Griffin. She married Warren L. Carto on July 10, 1954 at St. Mary’s in Flint. Mary Jane enjoyed knitting, shopping and was an excellent cook. She loved taking vacations, which included visiting many countries around the world. Mary Jane retired from AC Spark Plug.
Mary Jane is survived by her husband, Warren; children, Daniel (Jill) Carto, Thomas Carto, Sandra (Timothy) Goyette and Bryan (Erica) Carto; grandchildren, Sandra Sawyer, Amanda Carto, Andrew Carto, Amy Carto, Tara Carto, Travis Carto, Kayla Carto, Russell Barry, Warren Barry, Thomas Barry, Bryan Barry, Richard (Kristen) Goyette and Lucas (Samantha) Goyette; great-grandchildren, Destiny Brown, Lyric Barry, Emma Goyette and Lyla Goyette; siblings, Irene Miller-Hyde, Patricia Taljonick and Susan Williams. She was preceded in death by her children, Lynn Watkins and Lisa Barry; sister, Kathleen Ladd.
