MACKO, Barbara – of Davison, age 83, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024 at Hurley Medical Center. A Funeral Service will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI; Pastor Rob McPherson officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Davison Cemetery. The family will welcome visitors from 11 AM until the time of service on Saturday at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Genesee County, in Barbara’s memory.
Barb was born March 4, 1941, in Capac, Michigan, the daughter of the late Fredrick and Geraldine (Graham) Brennan. She was raised on a dairy farm in Capac and later pursued her education, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Central Michigan University. Barb was deeply involved in her community, serving as an active member of Davison United Methodist Church and participating in the church choir. She dedicated 30 years to teaching elementary students at Wolcott, Thompson, and Siple schools within the Davison School District. Barb enjoyed staying connected with her colleagues and friends through the Retired Teachers Group Luncheons and as a member of the Capac Girls. In addition to her teaching career, Barb was a passionate volunteer at the Davison Library and the Davison Senior Center. She loved to travel, often taking bus trips to the casino with her friends. She was also a proud member of the Red Hats Society, enjoying the camaraderie and fun spirit of the group. Above all, Barb was a devoted grandmother and loving mother, always putting her family first and creating lasting memories with those she held dear.
Barb is survived by her loving daughter, Tammy (David) Langley; grandchildren, Abigail Langley and Tricia (Drew) Schlak; great grandsons: Benjamin, Greyson, and Cade; brother, Robert Brennan; her cat, Simba; and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by husband, Michael Macko.
