ROSS, Earl Dillard - of Lapeer, age 89, passed away January 23, 2015 at his residence. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 706 W. Flint St., Davison; Pastor Todd Frusti officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Monday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison and 10-11 AM Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Earl was born in Cleveland, OH on August 7, 1925, son of the late John and Carrie (Hoffman) Ross. He married Helen E. Ross on January 4, 1947 in Flint, MI and she preceded him in death in 2012. Earl proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from May 22, 1943-May 1, 1946. He was a member of the Lions Club and Trinity Lutheran Church. Earl retired from GM and began a family business as well as building several homes and enjoyed retirement in both Florida and Michigan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, woodworking and he loved to build.
Earl is survived by his children, Daniel E. (Sherry) Ross, Edward J. (Deanna) Ross, Gary A. (Diane) Ross, Leonard J. (Barb) Ross, Dr. Wayne C. Ross and partner Brent Stevens; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Karen Elizabeth Ross.
