Zofchak, Marian Beatrice of Swartz Creek, age 92, died Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at McLaren-Flint. Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2024, at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church. The Very Reverend James Batcha will officiate. Burial will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. There will be a gathering of family and friends beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday at the church with a Panachada prior to the Liturgy. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The American Diabetes Association.
Marian was born in Flint, Michigan on September 18, 1931, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Flasher) Wargo. She was a graduate of Flint Northern, Class of 1950. Marian married Paul Zofchak on November 3, 1956, in Flint. He preceded her in death on November 8, 2020, after 64 years of marriage. She was faithful and active member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church. Marian was an avid Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers fan. She enjoyed going to the casino and doing jigsaw puzzles.
Marian is survived by her five children, Theodore Paul and wife Phyllis Zofchak of Flushing; Mary Theresa and husband Joseph Hurst of Swartz Creek, Carolyn Ann and husband Ralph Wendt of Gaines, Michael Joseph and wife Rhonda Zofchak of Flushing, Ann Elizabeth and husband Robert Aman of Grand Haven; 11 grandchildren; five great-granddaughters; three step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Betty Gleason, Frances Matus, Joseph Wargo, John Wargo; and niece, Connie Kramer.
