Maurice Marsh, 88, of Lapeer, died Sunday, October 13, 2019.
Maurice was born March 24, 1931 in Decker, Michigan to John and Rachel (Hook) Marsh. He graduated from Marlette High School, class of 1949. Maurice married Nancy Kay Wise Russell on October 22, 1977 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Lapeer. Maurice had a 40+ year career at Pontiac Motors. He was a long-term and active member at Trinity United Methodist Church participating in the Men’s Work Group and regularly volunteering for the Soup Kitchen. Maurice volunteered as a Lapeer County EMT for nearly 20 years. He always kept a wonderful garden and was passionate about his lawn.
Maurice is survived by his wife, Nancy Marsh; children: Valarie (Raymond) Simpson of Columbiaville, Loretta (Tim) Delong of Lapeer, David Russell of Brighton and Jennifer (Tim) Hock of South Bend, IN; eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. Maurice is also survived by many, many nieces and nephews. Maurice was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Todd Windsor and his aforementioned parents.
Visitation will be from 4-8PM Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Maurice’s funeral service will be at 11:00AM Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1310 North Main Street, Lapeer, Michigan 48446. Pastor Grant Lobb will officiate. Burial will take place at Hunters Creek Cemetery, Lapeer.
