JONES, Mark – of Goodrich, age 63, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at The National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, June 1, 2024 at The River Church, 9430 Perry Road, Goodrich, MI 48438; Pastor Dave Weir officiating. The family will welcome visitors from 2-7 PM on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Life Challenge Ministries (Flint Campus) - 1230 Dupont St, Flint, MI 48504, Missionaries Eli and Krista Horn or SON International Ministries, in Mark’s memory.
Mark was born in Flint, MI on July 1, 1960, son of the late Russell and Cleta (Smith) Jones. He married Laura Richardson on December 30, 1983. Mark and Laura enjoyed 40 beautiful years of marriage together. Mark graduated from Davison High School and went on to graduate from the University of Michigan-Flint. He worked as a designer and mechanical engineer for over forty years. Mark enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, fishing, sports of all kinds, and serving at his church, Journey Ministries. Mark’s love of God and people was the most important aspect of who he was and was evident in all that he did. He was a fully devoted follower of Jesus, a loving husband, and an amazing father. He impacted so many lives through his generosity, kindness, and Christ-like love. He will be missed dearly.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Laura; children, Caleb (Jesse) Jones, Victoria (Mitchell) Mahler and Luke (Jaimie) Jones; two grandchildren on the way; siblings, Teresa Hoffman and Greg Jones; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Northrup.
