HYDE, Dorothy L. - Of Flint, age 88, died Monday, August 1, 2011 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 11a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Steve Wood officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Those desiring may make contributions to The Old Newsboys. Visitation 2-8p.m. Wednesday and 9a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Dorothy was born in St. Charles, MI on June 28, 1923, and was a resident of the Flint area most of her life. Surviving are sons, Charles and wife Barb of Clio, William and wife Sue of Arkansas and John of Mt. Morris; daughter-in-law, Ruthann Hyde of Missouri; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse; 2 sons, Robert and Thomas; daughter-in-law, Marsha Hyde; parents, Albert and Ethel Nelson; 2 brothers and 1 sister.
