SALISBURY, William W. - Of Swartz Creek, age 77, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Grand Blanc Rehab & Nursing Center after a long illness. William fought a long battle to the end.
Visitation 1-7pm Sunday and 9:30am Monday until the time of the service at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, where the funeral service and celebration of William’s life will be held 11am Monday, May 5, 2014.
Pastor Dean Meadows officiating.
Per William’s wishes, cremation will take place following the service.
If you wish, you can donate to the National Kidney Foundation or to the Myeloma Fund. Envelopes available at the funeral home.
William was born in Flint on April 7, 1937. William graduated from Northern High School and attended G.M.I. Institute. He was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He was also member and past Director of the Buick Club of America as well as the Reatta Club. William loved old cars. He married Barbara Wright on August 17, 1962 and they spent 52 years together. William was in the Army Reserves for 5 years. He was also a member of the Central Church of the Nazarene, which he loved and met some wonderful people. His family always came first. He loved them all dearly. William worked at Buick as a young man as a Tool and Die Maker then leaving in 1979 to start his own business named Flint Tool and Engineering which was a real success.
William leaves his wife, Barbara;
children, Deb, Nick and Scott and their spouses;
grandchildren, Ashley and Rob;
great-granddaughters, Bea and Lilly.
The family would like to thank DaVita Dialysis, Dr. Syzarto, Dean and Norm, and Gil and Tom. They were with William to the end. He loved them all.
Thank you to everyone and may God bless us all. We will miss William and his flower gardens dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Betty and sister, Helen.
