GREEN, Mrs. Betty D.-age 66, of Flint, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, July 8, 2016 with a 10:00 am family hour at Foss Avenue Baptist Church 1159 E. Foss Ave., Flint, MI 48505. Dr. Reginald G. Flynn officiating. The final resting place for Mrs. Green will be River Rest Cemetery, Flint, MI. Calling hours for Mrs. Green are 12:00 noon - 8:00 pm with family present to receive friends from 6:00 pm -7:00 pm Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Galilean Baptist Church 109 W. Holbrook Ave., Flint, MI 48505.
Mrs. Betty D. (Lott) Green was born April 26, 1950 in Douglas, GA the daughter of Leonard and Willie Pearl Lott. She attended Carver High School c/o 1968. After graduating from high school, Betty attended Ware Tech in Waycross, GA. Betty accepted Christ at a tender age at St. James in Ambrose, GA. Betty was a faithful member of Foss Avenue Baptist Church for 42 years. With her spirit and smile she served faithfully in the Kitchen, Nurse and Usher Ministries. She also helped with passing food out to those in need at the Food Bank through Foss Avenue. Betty was employed at Meijer on Pierson Rd. for 24 years where she held several different positions. Betty’s gift was to help people by providing delicious home cooked meals and desserts. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. One of her many hobbies was to post her adventures on her Facebook page. In addition to being a servant, she was an advocate for Breast Cancer Awareness.
She leaves to cherish 45 years of memories with her husband, Freeland Green and her legacy of love continues through her daughters, Arlene (Corey) Wilborn of Clio, MI and Sonya (Pastor Sean) Payne of Mt. Morris, MI. Her three jewels are Darrell Spann Jr., Marselis and Miles Wilborn. Her towers of strength are Minister Leroy (Mildred) Lott of Allenhurst, GA and Jerome (Helen) Lott of Hinesville, GA; one uncle, Robert Bivens; aunt, Carrie Fletcher both of Douglas, GA; in-laws, Dorothy Gibbs of Flushing, MI, Irma Johnson of Flint, MI, Cassandra Hughes of Flint, MI, William (Dorothy) Green of Plano, TX; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, “Golden Girls”, god-children, Donyale Sims and Dayna Clemons and the Foss Avenue Church Family.
Betty Deen (Lott) Green is preceded in death by: her parents, Leonard and Willie Pearl Lott; sister, Linda Lott-Reed; son, baby Green and daughter, Tina Marie Green.
