HORTON, Marjorie Ethel - Of Swartz Creek, age 88, died Friday, August 23, 2019 at Caretel Inns of Linden.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek, MI.
Rev. Father Louis Ekka officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
Visitation 4-8pm Sunday and 12-8pm Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Monday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 10am Tuesday at church until the time of the Mass.
Marjorie was born in Flint on February 25, 1931, the daughter of the late Harvey Lee and Regina Ann (Prybylski) Johnson. On June 15, 1950, she married James “Jim” Horton in Flint and he preceded her in death on August 7, 2006. Marjorie was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Church. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards, especially Pinochle and Euchre, and going on casino trips. Marjorie enjoyed cooking for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing and getting her hair and nails done every Friday.
Surviving are children, Margina Bowen, Bonnie (Chuck) Hiteshew, and Jim (Sandy) Horton;
Grandchildren, Charles Bowen II, Christopher (Jessica) Bowen, Krystle (Steve) Dorobek, Nicole Hiteshew, Jessica (Zack) Lyon, Alex Horton and Grace Horton;
Great-grandchildren, Gwen, Irena, and Zofia;
Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Special thank you to Heartland Hospice and Caretel Inn, hairdresser Angie and special caretakers, Linda, Kelly, Victoria and Bev.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim and son-in-law, Charles Bowen.
