SCALF, Charles “Charlie” – of Montrose, formerly Riverside, California, age 67, died Thursday, January 31, 2019 at his residence. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service in honor of Charlie will be held in June. Memorial contributions may be made to Compassus Hospice.
Charlie was born January 28, 1952 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Ben and Mary (McQueen) Scalf. He graduated from Norte Vista High School in Riverside, California in 1970. Charlie met Maureen Gagnon on February 14, 2005 and have spent many happy years together. Charlie worked as a Supply Chain Manager for Ryder in Lansing. He enjoyed playing guitar, listening to music and collecting memorabilia. Most of all, Charlie loved spending time with his children and Maureen’s family.
Surviving are: Partner, Maureen Gagnon; Children: Amy VanPelt of Roseburg, Oregon, Carrie Brooke of Roseburg, Oregon, Nathan Scalf, and Jenna (Tom) Walter of Orange County, California; Granddaughters: Shaylynn, Mary, and Hannah; Grandson, Kael; Great grandson, Hero; Half-sister, Ladonna Nash, and niece Peggy Kaufman.
