Martha Ann (Hocking) Webb, age 81, of Flushing, MI, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Medilodge of Montrose, with family at her side. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Rossell Funeral Home, Flushing, with Pastor Michael Shustock officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-9 P.M. Friday, December 7, 2012 at the funeral home.
Martha was born June 24, 1931, the youngest daughter of Frederick and Hyacinth (Rowe) Hocking. She married her high school sweetheart Valker J. Webb Jr. “Bill” on September 10, 1947. They shared 59 wonderful years of togetherness. The love they shared was obvious, and their devotion to each other endless. What a reunion there must be in Heaven.
Martha went to work at Sears to earn “some extra spending money for Christmas” in 1960 and retired 33 years later in 1993. Her winters were spent in Bradenton, Florida, where she enjoyed the warm sunshine, many wonderful friends, and shuffleboard. She was the shuffleboard league champion in 2010. Martha touched many hearts – she influenced and inspired all who knew her. She was kind, caring, and loving. Family always came first and family get-togethers were filled with fun and laughter. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her life on earth has ended, but her love will forever live on and she will be missed deeply. She was preceded in death by her husband “Bill”; her parents; sisters, Dorothy (Bill) Culp and Charlotte (Ron) Lane.
She is survived by: her loving children, daughter, Marsha (Don) Meeker of Remus, MI and son, Brian S. Webb (Jaren Solomon) of Tallahassee, FL; five grandchildren, James (Leanne) Novar, Colby (Monica) Novar, Kim (Keith) Vanloozenoord, Corey (Rebecca) Webb, and Kelli (Marcus)Todd; ten great-grandchildren, Ryan and Erika Novar; Colton, Levi, and Seth Vanloozenoord; Taylor and Ella Grace Webb; Slade, Hannah, and Ariana Todd; sister, Gladys Waldron; many nieces and nephews. A special place in her heart belonged to niece Beverly Baker, Harlen (Har) Balzer, Kristi White, Jason Hinkle, and ALL of her extended family at Medilodge who loved, cared for, and treated her with kindness and respect.
Marsha and Brian want to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the numerous family and friends who have shown so much love, help, and concern during this difficult time – you are truly loved. |
