ZERBE, Veneda Mae - Of Burton, age 88, passed away peacefully under hospice care on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Kith Haven in Flint, Michigan.
Funeral service will be held 10am Monday, February 25, 2013
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Reverend Harold K. Polk Jr. officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 1-7pm Sunday and 9am Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home
Veneda was born in Neelyville, Missouri on July 16, 1924, the daughter of Clifford and Elizabeth M. (Hill) Moore. She grew up on a farm with 6 sisters and one brother. Veneda graduated from Broseley High School in 1942 and that June moved to Flint to help with the War effort working at General Motors. Married to John W. Zerbe in 1947, Veneda raised 3 sons, retiring from A.C. Spark Plug after 30 years. She enjoyed her retirement and has lived in Burton since 1976. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, flower gardening, cooking and shopping for her family.
She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her best friend, Ron Farrer; sons, John E. (Marilyn), Monte K. (Sue) and Randy K. (Judy) Zerbe;
seven grandchildren;
four great-grandchildren
and sister, Gertrude Carey.
