Barbara Rose (Fry) (Ingham) Cruickshank died due to complications from illness, surrounded by loved ones in the hospital, on May 8, 2017 in Sarasota, Florida at the age of 78. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. Interment immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 2- 8 PM and Tuesday May 16, 2017 from 10-11 AM at Allen Funeral Home. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Allen Funeral Home.
Barbara was born on February 13, 1939 in Flint, Michigan and grew up in Davison. She married her first husband Ed in 1956. They raised their family in Kearsley Schools, and enjoyed being active in their children’s activities, both served as troop leaders for Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts and the Explorers. In 1989 Barbara was widowed. In 1995 she remarried Dale and began a new chapter of her life. They moved to Florida and enjoyed becoming active in their new community. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her orchids, sewing, camping and travel. She worked as a secretary for the volunteer fire department. She loved her family and she loved being around people, she always had a smile on her face and joyful spirit.
Barbara is survived by her husband Dale Cruickshank, her siblings, Kenneth (Janet) Fry, Lorraine (Mel) Serow and Ruth Hill, her children Terry (Denise) Ingham, Daniel (Denise) Ingham, Brenda MacArthur, and Diane (John) Warner, her stepchildren Angela (David) Stephenson and Ronald Cruickshank, her grandchildren Andrea (Nicolas) Briolat, Stephanie (Denny) Cole, Jered (Susan) Ingham, Kellie (Nathan) Denne, Christopher (Amanda) Ingham, David (April) Folger, Courtnie Folger, Holly (Chow) Zhong, Hillary (Sean) Keener and Wyatt Warner, her step grandchildren, Christal Stephenson and Rachel Cruickshank, her great grandchildren Tori and Shane Briolat, Lily and Jackson Cole, Cormack and Kian Ingham, Makenna and Maverick Denne, Brooklyn Ingham, Preston, Paige and Hazel Folger, Haley Folger, Malachi and Mackenzie Little, Eli, Noah, Tucker, Tatum, and Gideon Keener, Connor McNaught and Aiden Kimball and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Rose Fry, Husband Lawrence Edward Ingham, son Jerry Ingham, sisters Beverly Sidell and Patricia Couch, grandson Zachary Warner and son in law Donald MacArthur.
