Marie Libbie Mabee, 110 (8-days shy of 111), died Thursday October 26, 2017. She was born November 3, 1906 in Arcadia Township to parents John and Jennie (Haskill) Roney. Marie married Carl Mabee on October 9, 1922 in Detroit.
Mrs. Mabee was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Lapeer. She was the oldest member at the church. Marie loved going out to dinner with family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing when she was able.
Mrs. Mabee is survived by her grandchildren: Carl (Sally) Gillies; Shawn Marie Miller, great-grandchildren: Marvin Olson; Kristen Rowan and Jade Downing as well as many great-great and great-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter: Shelly Hawk (2017); husband: Carl (in 1987); daughters: Onalee Walton and Normalee Peters; siblings: Irene Miller; Onabelle StJohn; Floyd Roney; Robert Roney; Elizabeth Colwell; Ruth Armantrout and George Roney.
Mrs. Mabee’s visitation and funeral will all be on Saturday October 28, 2017; visitation will be from 11:00-2pm, immediately followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm officiated by Pastor Grant Lobb, all at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. The burial will follow, in Attica Township Cemetery.
