PILON, Vel (Neal) – of Columbiaville, age 72, went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2017. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, October 28, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-8 PM and Friday from 1-3 & 5-8 PM at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. A Rosary will be prayed at 5:15 PM on Friday at Allen Funeral Home. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Outreach East.
Vel was born in Big Rapids, MI on July 24, 1945, daughter of the late Virgil Neal and Lula (John) Dow. She married Douglas Pilon on October 26, 1963. Vel retired from Social Security Administration of Flint in 2007 after 18 years of service. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and enjoyed painting China.
Mourning her loss is her husband, Doug; three sons, Michael (Erica), Mark (Jennifer) and Paul (Jennifer); six grandchildren, David, Erin, Steven, Kaylan, Carissa and Kimberly; siblings, Margaret (Daniel) Gasparich, Catherine (Gary) Hansen, Jacqueline (Jerry) Myers, Patrick Dow, John Dow, Charles (Peggy) Dow, Barbara Russell, Robert (Val) Dow, Ronald Dow; her Tennessee Family, James (Pat) Neal, Barbara (John) Akers, Dolores Neal and Darlene (Dewey) Dyer; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by sisters, Sandra Arnold and Frances Kelley.
