TURNBULL, Virginia "Maxine", age 85, of Grand Blanc, passed away Tuesday March 3, 2015 at Caretel Inns, Linden.
Services will be 11:00AM Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc. The family will receive friends 10 AM Saturday until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Foundation.
Maxine was born March 9, 1929 in Grand Blanc the daughter of the late Milo C. and Emma Grace Rayner. She married John Turnbull in 1968 and he preceded her in death in 2002. Maxine was employed by Grand Blanc Community Schools as an accountant, retiring after 33 years of dedication. She enjoyed music and sang in many church choirs. John and Maxine enjoyed traveling together having visited many places. They moved to Arizona in 1984 where Maxine lived until 2008.
Surviving are her brother, Gordon Rayner of Flint; step-daughter, Patricia Matznick; and several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her step-sons, Kenneth and Thomas Turnbull and her siblings Helen, Earl, Owen, Juanita, Lynn and Verna.
