WOLFE, Spencer Watson - Age 73, of Grand Blanc, died March 4, 2017. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, March 11 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Visitation will be held Friday 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to Wounded Warriors or to Reverence Hospice.
Spencer was born September 11, 1943, in Buffalo, NY, the son of Spencer Munson and Natala (Watson) Wolfe. He married Laura L. Nelson on July 28, 2009 in Ann Arbor. He proudly served as a Captain in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1967-1972. Spencer was awarded multiple Purple Hearts, The Cross of Gallantry with Bronze Star and numerous other commendations. He was a member of the Flint VFW Post 822, the Grand Blanc American Legion Post 413, and the Military Order of Purple Heart. He graduated from Hillsdale College. Spencer was the owner of the Grand Blanc Branch of Management Recruiters, Inc. until his retirement. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, military history and was an avid reader.
Spencer is survived by his wife, Laura; three children, Heidi Hunter, Spencer E. "Trae" (M. Cherish) Wolfe, and, Devon Wolfe; six grand children, Breeyan Hunter, Shelby Hunter, Jaden Wolfe, Kira Wolfe, Gage Wolfe, and, Kinsley Wolfe; sister Linda (David) Fox.
Spencer was preceded in death by his parents, and grandson, Brett.
