WYKES, Roland Blair - Age 89, of Fenton, died Sunday, July 26, 2020. Public visitation will be held Friday July 31, 2020, from 1 PM to 7 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Graveside service will take place 11 AM, Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Roland was born on October 30, 1930, in Flint, the son of Lester and Addie (Blair) Wykes. He graduated from Gaines High School. Roland proudly served in the United States Marines Corps. from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1953. He and Pauline DeDominces were united in marriage on February 5, 1952 in Angola, Indiana. Roland worked for GM for 40 years before his retirement in 1989. Roland enjoyed traveling with his family and hunting. He is survived by his daughter, Terry (Mark) Tibbitts; grandson, Jeremy Tibbitts; great-grandson, Nicholas Tibbitts; 2 brothers and sister, Myra Bammel, Arnold Wykes and Eldon Wykes; special friend, Marjorie Hogeson; and many nieces and nephews. Roland was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Wykes; parents, Lester and Addie Wykes; and brother and 2 sisters, Wendell, Rosemary and Rosella.
