HEIDEL, Dolores Emily - Age 93, died March 26th, 2020, of natural causes.
Born July 18, 1927 in Flint, Michigan to Emile and Rita (Votard) Chenot. Graduated from St. Matthews High School (1945). Married David W. Heidel, September (1951).
In the 1950's Dolores worked at Burroughs-Millikan-McGee and GM Flint Assembly. Later she joined Barbara Koegel Interior Design from where she retired at age 75. A consummate homemaker, some of her happiest moments were those she dedicated to trying new recipes.
Dolores was preceded in death by two sisters: Irma Jean Tharpe (2015) and Rose Marie (infancy). She is survived by her husband David of Flint Township; children Anne and Matthew of Flint and Tom and partner Jonathan of Oakland, California; sister-in-law Margaret Heidel and numerous nieces and nephews. Dolores enjoyed a special bond with her niece Joanne Wahl.
Dolores was deeply committed to the developmentally disabled community, serving as a teachers' aide and Board Member of GCARC and Quality Living Systems. Memorial contributions may be made to Quality Living Systems, PO Box 7029, Flint, 48507.
Services will not be held. Cremains will be interred at New Calvary Cemetery, Flint.
