Wilson (McLone), Rosemary Ann
Age 84, of Ann Arbor, MI passed away on September 21, 2024.
Growing up in the Flint and Grand Blanc area, Rosemary attended St. Michael and Holy Redeemer Catholic Schools, graduating from Holy Redeemer Class of 1958. She briefly attended the University of Michigan before embarking on a 31-year career at Ford Motor Company, working her way from Office Clerk Grade 2 to Quality Control Engineer, before retiring from Ford as a Program Timing Coordinator Grade 8. While at Ford, she earned an associate’s degree in Quality Control from Washtenaw Community College. She was particularly proud of earning promotions that at the time went almost exclusively to men; for being discussed in a company film by the general manager; and for being the creator of the “I Love Ford Parts” pin. In retirement, Rosemary worked as a real estate agent and enjoyed world travel, interior decorating, and “working” at the Nature’s Garden Center in Saline. She handmade dolls, including one doll that earned 1st place at the Saline Community Fair and a Special Award from the Michigan State Fair. She had diverse musical tastes from Barbra Streisand to George Strait. Rosemary enjoyed eating out as a regular at Bill Knapps, Bob Evans, Outback, and Five Guys. Rosemary celebrated three National Championships for her beloved Michigan Wolverines. She was a generous friend who helped out many behind the scenes. Rosemary, also known as Grandma Ginger, Grandma Nina, or simply Grandma, treasured spoiling grandchildren with gifts, shopping, and dining.
She is survived by daughters, Kathryn Simpson and Karin (Matthew) Burns;
grandchildren, Jason (Amber) Tower, McKenna Burns, Lauren Simpson, Kellen Burns and Garrison Simpson;
great-grandchildren, Xavier, Elijah, Emilia, and Maria;
sisters, Marcia Sayles, Susan McLone, and Margaret McLone;
brother, Joseph McLone; several nieces and nephews.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wilson; parents, Joseph and Rosemary McLone, and sisters, Joanne Sherman-Price and Catherine Amorose.
Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, in Burton, MI on Friday, September 27th 2024 at 1 pm with Visitation before starting at noon, Father Georges Bidzogo officiating.
