WENTA, Clara Sophie - age 94, of Fenton, Michigan, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide Street, Fenton with Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. A rosary service will be at 7:00 PM and a VFW Ladies Auxiliary Service will be held at 7:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Clara was born August 7, 1924 in Caro, Michigan, the daughter of Bert and Kunegunda (Chrobak) Rusk. She married Stanley William Wenta on May 6, 1944 in Caro. She was a homemaker and devoted to her family. Clara was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton, the VFW Auxiliary of Fenton, the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, and the St. Margaret Mary Prayer Group. Survivors include six children, Stanley W. (Mary Kay) Wenta, Jr. of Columbia City, IN, Gerald M. (Linda) Wenta of Swartz Creek, MI, Marian L. Furey of Simi Valley, CA, Thomas A. Wenta of Flint, MI, Dr. Robert G. (Tena) Wenta of Boone, NC, and Carol A. (Steve) Rhoades of North Manchester, IN; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley William Wenta, Sr.; four sisters, Monica, Josephine, Bernida, and Theresa; three brothers, Louis, John, and Frank; and an infant grandson, Robert Furey.
