SCHWALM, Alberta Mae. - Of Millington, formerly Gladwin, age 86, died Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Maple Woods Manor in Clio. Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Monday, June 23, 2014 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Dan Shinabarger officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-4PM and 5-8PM and on Monday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Alberta was born on January 21, 1928 in Flint, MI to the late Laroy and Rosanna (Nichols) Burns. She married Royal J. Schwalm in Ohio. He preceded her in death in 1982. She later married Virgil Millheisler. Alberta retired from AC with 30 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #651. She was known for cheating on her diets. Alberta enjoyed gardening and crocheting. She loved and cherished her home on the lake.
Surviving are: son, Ralph Schwalm of Gladwin; daughter, Joan Lackey of Millington; step daughter, Brenda Gamet of Millington; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brother, Bob Burns; sisters, Elaine Smith, Ruth Ann Turner, Jackie Pelch. Alberta was preceded in death by: stepson, Royal Schwalm; granddaughter, Lisa Derosia; 2 great grandchildren and 2 sisters.
