FORTUNE, Francine M. “Harriet” – of Davison, age 89, passed away December 4, 2018 at Wellbridge of Grand Blanc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 PM Saturday, December 8, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Burial will immediately follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 – 3 PM and 5 – 8 PM Friday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. A Rosary will be prayed 7 PM Friday. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Building Fund.
Francine was born in Flint, MI on June 27, 1929, daughter of the late Harry and Esther (Easlick) LaRocque. She married Lawrence Charles Fortune on July 7, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1977 after 31 years of marriage. Francine retired as a legal secretary after many years of service. She was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison. Francine enjoyed sewing and cooking. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Francine is survived by her children, Lawrence (Donna) and Christine (fiance Mark Corkins) Eaton; grandchildren, Lawrence (Diane) Fortune, Chad (Denise) Fortune, Carrie Johnson and Lori Gossett; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Sarah Morgan, Beatrice Davis and Donald LaRocque; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son, James Arnold Fortune in 1972 and great-grandson, Jesse Gossett.
