Raymond Lloyd Meeker age 82, passed away Wednesday July 22, 2015 in Traverse City Michigan. Raymond was born in Mt. Morris Michigan on December 28, 1932 the son of Leonard & Rheabelle (Greenfield) Meeker and spent most of his life in Mt Morris retiring to Mancelona in his later years. He was joined in marriage to Doris Elizabeth Long in 1957 and they raised their six children; Rodney (Shar) Meeker, Russell Meeker, Dan (Stephanie) Meeker, Debra (Logan) Pierson, Denise (Paul) Grafenberg, and Dana (Steve) Roggentine. He also leaves his eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He also leaves Sister Dorothy Troyer Anderson. He is preceded in death by brothers Miffy, Basil, and sister Joyce. He was a man of faith who proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed by General Motors Buick Motor Division for over thirty years retiring in 1986. Dad could, at times appear hard headed with a tough exterior, but he had a great sense of humor and a big heart filled with love and affection for his family and friends. He enjoyed gardening and deer hunting while in Michigan and playing cards and attending church with friends when enjoying the warm winters at his second home in Alabama. Dad liked having a good time. In his younger years, he won many trophies racing his motorcycle with a side-car on ice and dirt, tinkering with car repairs (probably more necessary than enjoyable), dancing and playing pool, and on occasion, a serious game of horse shoes with all of us at his side. Dad we love you. You will be remembered and missed by each of us. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday July 25, 2015 at Mumford Hudson Funeral Home 116 Grove St. Otisville, Rev.
